Fiona & Alan, Kettles Country House Hotel & Malahide Castle Demense

A couple of firsts were ticked off the list at the Wedding of “Fiona and Alan” It was my first ever Tuesday wedding, and I had the privilege of being asked to capture the lovely couples’ “First Look”. The first look is very popular in America, and it basically involves the couple having first sight of each other before the wedding ceremony, usually in a private location – with just the photographer present. The “The Kettles Hotel” had the perfect place for this on their grounds.

The day kicked off at Alan’s parents for some quick family shots, and then around the corner to the couples’ home where I was greeted by Cora, Fiona’s bridesmaid. While “Breda O’Neill” was on make up duties, I took shots of the preparations, then after some portraits of the bride we headed for the venue, and on the way got a small sprinkling of rain! Fortunately that was the last of it and we were treated to a beautiful afternoon in North County Dublin.

After the ceremony my self and the newlyweds headed to the beautiful Malahide Castle for some portrait shots, and then back to the hotel where the couple boogied the night way to Frankly Buble.

Elly Bay Belmullet County Mayo

A sunset from Elly bay taken back in March the day before Mayo played Donegal In Castlebar, remember that really cold weather?
I decided on the drive down from Dublin to head for Dun Briste (Downpatrick Head) but a strong gale on the edge of the cliffs mean’t the camera never came out of the bag never mind up on a tripod. Over to my left as I looked out to the Dun Briste I could see a brilliant display of sunshine rays burst through the clouds in the direction of Belmullet.
Back into the car and an hour later I was on this beach In Elly bay, just enough time to grab the last bit of the Sun and its afterglow.

In other news I had my first Tuesday Wedding during the week! A great day was had by all and I hope to share some shots from the day shortly.
Have a good Bank Holiday everyone!
